Dr Thai-Lai Pham is the CEO of Siemens in ASEAN, overseeing the company’s industrial core businesses of Digital Industries, Smart Infrastructure and Mobility.

He is concurrently the President & CEO of Siemens Vietnam, a position that he has held since 2012. Under his leadership, Siemens Vietnam’s business has grown in volume and breadth, from building power plants and automating manufacturing facilities, to digitalizing power grids and factories and providing innovative traffic solutions. Siemens is today a key infrastructure partner for Vietnam, and one of the most successful multinational companies in the country.

He is additionally the Head of Smart Infrastructure (SI) ASEAN, steering SI’s business of intelligently connecting energy systems, buildings and industries to enhance the way people live and work through greater efficiency and sustainability.

Dr Pham had previously held various management positions in R&D, corporate strategy, product development and sales, in the telecommunications, healthcare, energy and building technologies divisions of Siemens. These roles had taken him to the US, Europe and Asia.

Born in Vietnam, Dr Pham grew up and was educated in Germany. He graduated from the Technical University of Munich with a master and PhD in electrical engineering.
