Program Manager

Tran Thi Thuc Huyen is the Program Manager of the YSEALI Academy at Fulbright, where she is responsible for planning and designing the program, as well as leading the communications activities & external affairs of the Academy to ensure integrity and coherence of the institution and its network. Huyen hopes to contribute to a stronger growth among U.S., ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste, and nurture a close-knit network of young people in the region.

Prior to joining YSEALI Academy, she had more than ten years of experiences working and interning in multinational companies, NGO/NPOs and a diplomatic mission in Ho Chi Minh City, Tokyo and Washington DC. By working with people from diverse backgrounds, she has gained valuable insights, and thus far, developed a strong interest in connecting people and empowering them to solve pressing societal issues, especially about enhancing people engagement, equal access to education and environmental problems. She has led and participated in multiple grant-awarded projects related to the topics.

Huyen has had strong ties with YSEALI program. She first joined the program as an Academic Fellow at the University of Montana in 2015, and has continued her engagement via different roles in YSEALI Regional Workshop or English Access Program.

Huyen holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Waseda University (Japan). She is an alumna of Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam), and studied at the Elliott School of International Affairs – The George Washington University (U.S.). She speaks Vietnamese, English, and Japanese.
