On the fourth day of Energy Economics and Policy Seminar, Fellows continued with Lecture 4 “Clean energy and environment in Southeast Asia” led by Dr. Minh Ha-Duong (Senior researcher, International expert on energy, development and environment, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, France) and Mr. Fabby Tumiwa, Executive Director, Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), Indonesia. Their talks featured major issues and approaches to energy management using economics and public policy tools.
Fellows were divided into three groups and continuously presented 3 following topics: (1) Biofuels in Indonesia: benefits and impact on the environment, (2) The role of solar PV in Singapore’s energy transition, (3) Environmental impacts of offshore wind: are megaprojects in Vietnam responsibly conducted?
In the Cultural Break Activity today, the spotlight belonged to Indonesian fellows who had the opportunity to introduce their culture to the speakers and other Fellows.
