H.E. Tran Duc Binh is appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General (DSG) of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs for 2021 – 2024. He will support the Secretary-General of ASEAN in providing strategic direction and guidance on corporate, legal and public affairs as well as outreach activities. On a daily basis, he will oversee the implementation of administration and general affairs, finance and budget, human resources, information technology, information resource management, community outreach, stakeholder engagements, protocol, conference and formalities, legal affairs, programme cooperation and project management, among others. 

  

DSG Binh has served various roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Viet Nam in the last 27 years. Prior to assuming the current position, DSG Binh was the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to ASEAN between 2018 to 2021. 

 

He holds an MA in International Affairs from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and gained his BA in English Linguistics from Ha Noi University of Foreign Studies, Viet Nam.
