The Future of Mental Health in Southeast Asia: From Individuals to Organizations

The 2024 Health Seminar targets budding managers who want to develop leadership competencies that promote mental wellbeing in their teams, organizations and communities while retaining productivity. Acquiring leadership skills that promote organizational mental wellbeing is a highly practical endeavour. Our health seminar will teach leadership practice through a series of 5 highly, immersive, customized workshops that focus on creating psychological safety, teamwork, and communication. Our workshops will be complemented by lectures delivering cutting-edge knowledge about emerging topics such as neurodiversity and the role of biotechnology and AI in mental health treatments. The ideal participant

We will recruit 30 YSEALI fellows, who are young professionals between the ages of 25-40, highly qualified and motivated, from all 10 ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste. Ideally, participants are budding managers, i.e. have experience or are about to manage and supervise a middle management team, multiple teams or entire organizations and communities. Participants are required to commit at least 8 online hours for pre-seminar tasks (attending lecture and reading materials) from April 19 – 22, 2023, and at least 38 hours to in-person seminar activities in Vietnam from April 22 – April 26, 2023. Therefore, participants are required to commit full-time to the seminar period for successful completion and obtaining the certificate. 

Key timeline:

  • Application opening: January 31, 2024
  • Info-session webinar: February 8, 2024, 20:00 – 21:00 Vietnam time 
  • Application deadline: February 16, 2024.
  • Announcement of results: Early March 2024.
  • Pre-seminar online sessions: April 17 & 19, 2024
  • Seminar dates: April 22 – April 26 2024 (Monday– Friday, in person) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

NOTE: Selection for our seminar is highly competitive. All travel, accommodation and participation costs will be fully covered by the YSEALI Academy.
