Our first meet-up with Fellows of “The Digitization of Trust” Seminar

On Friday May 13^th, YSEALI Academy at Fulbright University Vietnam launched its first virtual meeting with the fellows of 2022 Technology and Innovation Seminar on the Digitization of Trust.

As one of the two pre-seminar events, “Meet the Fellow” was an opportunity for 35 fellows from 11 Southeast Asian countries to get to know each other, learn about the seminar’s curriculum, as well as attend a mock lecture by Dr. Eusebio Scornavacca from Arizona State University.

To break the ice, each fellow was asked about one fun fact about themselves, and a hashtag that could come along with that fact. A fellow from Thailand shared that besides working as a full-time teacher, he is also a subtitler at night, subtitling for several series and movies on well-known streaming services. From the belief that teachers can be versatile and should have a can-do attitude, his hashtag is #teacherscando.

After the introduction part from all participants, Dr. Vladimir Mariano – YSEALI Lead Faculty for Technology and Innovation – introduced the curriculum of the upcoming seminar. This was followed by a Q&A session to answer the Fellow’s questions regarding the seminar’s content. Dr. Eusebio Scornavacca,Professor at Arizona State University attended the event as a special guest anddelivered a mock lecture on “Digital Technologies and the Tale of the Boiling Frog”.
