Lecture 1: How Nations Connect by Professor David Dapice
Professor David Dapice from Harvard University gave an overview of economic integration through the connection among nations. The fellows were also asked to speak up about different fields of economic integration, such as the "gravity model”, corporate debt, services in trades, and tourism.
Lecture 2: Drivers of Economic Growth and Strategic Priorities for Building Sustainable Prosperity in ASEAN by Dr. Vu Minh Khuong
Dr. Vu Minh Khuong is an Associate Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (National University of Singapore). His research and teaching concentrate on economic development and policy analysis.
In this lecture Dr. Khuong gave insights on the role of ASEAN in the global dynamics of economic growth and the strategic priorities behind building sustainable prosperity in the region.
Leadership 1 - Influencing without Authority by Suzanne C. de Janasz
In our first leadership workshop, Suzanne C. de Janasz introduced our fellows to the strategies and effective use of informal power and influence. The session addressed the matters with case studies, fun interactions, and wrapped up with a discussion in groups on a short film excerpt.
On reflection, as our fellows were preparing for the seminar's final group project, Sompong Southapanya from Laos shared how he could apply the key takeaways from the workshop to improve his teamwork experience.
