Day 4 at YSEALI Academy Public Policy Fellows immersed our fellows in the rich cultural and historical tapestry of Ho Chi Minh City. The day unfolded with two captivating field trip activities that provided participants with unique insights into the city's past, present, and vibrant cultural heritage.
Our fellows had a visit to the City's Department of Foreign Affairs, where fellows had the opportunity to learn about the diplomatic landscape and international relations of Ho Chi Minh City. Engaging discussions with officials shed light on the city's global connections, diplomatic initiatives, and the role of public policy in shaping its international engagement.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Pham Tran Thanh Thao, Vice Director of Ho Chi Minh City's Department of External Affairs for hosting our YSEALI Academy Public Policy Seminar Delegation.
Following this enlightening session, the afternoon was an opportunity to experiencing the cultural vibrancy of Ho Chi Minh City. Fellows gathered at the iconic City Opera House for A O Show - a unique cultural bamboo circus show. This unique performance combined traditional live Vietnamese music, acrobatics, and storytelling, showcasing a glimpse into Vietnam's cultural diversity from peaceful life in the countryside to noise and irony of urbanization.
Captivating the audience with its dynamic blend of traditional and contemporary elements, the show left a memorable mark in our fellows' hearts. As the day came to an end, the fellows reflected on the significance of bridging the gap between policy-making and cultural understanding.
